Ambrose Rosznar

The Gilded Tongue

“There are performers, and there are provocateurs. Ambrose is both—and what a shame the stage must end when the world does not.”
The Librarian

Ambrose Rosznar is a flamboyant, silver-tongued tiefling bard whose flair for performance is rivaled only by his talent for courtly sabotage and social subterfuge. A scion of the once-fallen noble House Rosznar, Ambrose walks the line between aristocratic elegance and revolutionary excess. With a voice that could charm devils and a wit sharper than most swords, he has become both the public face and emotional heart of the Hype Squad.

Though often underestimated as a showman, Ambrose has proven himself time and again as a capable manipulator, diplomat, and occasional field commander in the chaos of The Grand Game. His skillset makes him an ideal bridge between Waterdeep’s fractured nobility and its criminal undercurrents.

Connections

  • Rumored to maintain a close friendship (or mutual admiration society) with Jarlaxle Baerne, sharing fashion tips and fond disdain for decorum.
  • Estranged from his family but still bears the Rosznar name with pride—or irony. Sometimes both.
  • Known for explosive entrances, heartfelt solos, and “accidentally” winning favor in places he shouldn't be allowed to perform.

A Game Concluded

“They played the Grand Game to its end—
and discovered that the final move was never theirs alone.”

—The Librarian

The Hype Squad’s role in the Grand Game concluded in a night of masks, broken pacts, and unanswered questions. What transpired beneath Waterdeep reshaped the city’s balance of power, scattered its conspirators, and left scars that have yet to heal.

Much remains obscured—by design, by magic, and by those who survived.

“History will name winners and losers.
The truth is less orderly.”

—The Librarian

Closing Remarks

Ambrose is many things: a noble, a liar, a poet, a spy. But above all else, he is aware. Aware of his audience. Aware of his enemies. Aware of the part he plays in a story larger than any one man. And perhaps... ready to rewrite it.
