Previous Episode: Voyage of the Cursed Dawn - S01 E12
Davkas Grosko and Juulia Troski visited the Merchant’s Guild, where they waited in line to obtain trade documents required to legally sell their fruit. Davkas cleverly skipped the line to get them faster. Meanwhile, Emberglow ran into Arnie Knucklebog, who told him some of his old mercenary allies were also in Farrock. Seeing a chance to form his own crew, Emberglow asked Arnie to gather them. They found Thorne, the kobold wizard, and headed towards the Mage Guild to find the others. However, access to the library required full guild membership, which would take time. Instead, they were advised to seek Captain Jack, a man who has past experience with resurrection magic. Butters P. Nutts went to the Merchant’s Guild as well, hoping to collect profits from his deal with Selenar Macadamia. He met with both Valys Macadamia and her father Selenar, who revealed he had once betrayed Butters’ father in business, leading to his downfall and death. Selenar had also now taken credit for Butters’ peanut butter invention. Despite the betrayal, Butters took the sack of 3,000 gold and left, vowing revenge.
At the same time, Rasa Arziki spoke with Edward North, leader of the Red Knights, who was no longer charmed. They discussed John Cutter, and Rasa made a deal to deliver Cutter to them. Rasa later visited the Mage Guild as well, seeking necromantic knowledge to free the Red Knights from John Silver’s control. He was also told to seek Captain Jack. Red Flint visited the Temple of the Sea Pantheon, where he learned about the Pelagic Hosts, the gods of the Arafora Sea. He felt drawn to Ao Shun, the northern dragon king, and pledged his allegiance. Flint also encountered Dragonborn worshippers who told him of a hidden beast imprisoned beneath the statue of Baisora in the city center, asking for his help to free it in exchange for a reward. The party eventually regrouped at the Grand Exchange and made their way to the Wicked Wench tavern in search of Captain Jack. After some searching, Rasa and Emberglow found him, but he initially ignored them and walked towards the harbor. Davkas, Butters, and Juulia spotted them and followed. Once the group was together, Jack finally acknowledged them and said he was on a mission to "free the beasty." At the harbor, Jack attempted to fire himself toward the floating island in the bay using a cannon, but Rasa stopped him. Emberglow jumped on Jack’s back, and Jack instead dove into the sea and swam across, climbing up the vines of the floating island with Emberglow still holding on. The others followed by boat. Red Flint, having decided to help the Dragonborns, also made his way to the floating island.
