Bellia I Pelegon was the 3rd Shahanshah. She was a sickly woman who died shortly into her reign, though some suspect that she was poisoned by her Grand Vizier Dana Arcanos, and uncle, the future Pelgos I.

Bellia was the only child of Shahanshah Oderion I and Shahanshah-consort Natalya Kazimir and was named for her aunt, Princess Bellia Pelegon. She was born prematurely and hardly survived infancy. The premature birth left her with a litany of health issues which plagued her throughout her short life. 

Princess Bellia grew up sequestered in the Golden Palace due to her ailments, frequently remanded to the care of physicians and sorcerers. Nonetheless, she was a well-read and scholarly girl and shared her father's appreciation for legal texts. Despite the widespread belief that Bellia would die as a child, she managed to survive to adulthood. However, her troubled health made Bellia a tangential figure of the Imperial court and prevented her from much engagement with Imperial politics. Upon her father's death of appendicitis, Bellia ascended the Golden Falcon Throne as Bellia I Pelegon. Like her father, Bellia relied on the wisdom of the Imperial Conclave and due to her frequent bouts with illness the Conclave effectively ruled the Imperium without her.

When Bellia was conscious, she insisted on being an active monarch, to the point of frequently convening the Conclave in her bedchamber. This led many to call her Bellia of the Bedchamber or the Bedchamber Shah.

Bellia's reign lasted just over a year until she was taken by a bloody cough. Despite only being twenty-six years of age, her illnesses left her haggard, frail, and aged. She was succeeded by her uncle, Pelgos I Pelegon, who was the secondborn child of Pelegon I. However, because Pelgos was married to Shazia Arcanos, the younger sister of Lady Dana Arcanos (Bellia's Grand Vizier), many whispered that Pelgos and Dana had conspired to poison Bellia and place themselves upon the throne.
