Princess Natalya Kazimir was the eleventh and youngest child of Sun Emperor Ubysh III Kazimir. As part of the peace between her father and Pelegon I, she was set to be betrothed to Pelegon I's firstborn child (had the child been female, her brother, Prince Vladimir, would have been betrothed instead). She was sent to the court in Arcanopolis in her thirteenth year and married to Prince Oderion in her eighteenth. Their marriage was cold and impassionate, with her husband rumored to prefer the company of her brother, Prince Timofrey Kazimir, who had accompanied her to court.
