The Battle of the Eight Kings was the major decisive battle of the Conquest of the Riverlands. An alliance of five of the monarchs of the Motherlands marched a combined host against Pelegon I. The armies met in a field roughly equidistant between Izan Meybin and Tritt Keep. In a bloody day of fighting which lasted through nightfall, the forces of House Pelegon won a bloody victory. The monarchs and surviving lords bent their knees to Pelegon i soon after, and Winifrith II Orthed was named River Queen as a vassal of the Emperor.
