The Battle of the Pass of Highwall was a decisive battle in the final stages of the Years of Blood and Iron. Having negotiated an alliance with the Hierarch of Neria Gramyldo Goldgrass by betrothing her son and heir Prince Pelegon to his daughter, the Nerian host began to march southwards after assembling at Arcysia. They were met at Highwall by a force led by Lady Roya Aran, and the overconfident Duchess Agnesina Amor blundered into the outnumbered but far better entrenched Beldonian force, leading to heavy casualties. In the fighting, Duchess Agnesina met Sir Carcoson Ugaros on the field of battle, where he slew her with Silence. The battle ended in a crushing defeat for the Legitimists and effectively ended Neria's brief involvement in the war.
When news of the defeat reached the Imperial Conclave besieged in Arcanopolis, they lost heart and assassinated Shahanshah Pelegon IV before surrendering the city to the besieging forces.
