Liona III Scelza was the Queen of Neria and head of House Scelza during the War of the Lion Queens. The aunt and regent of the young Liona II, who had been named after her, Liona III became queen after her niece's sudden death. Already unpopular, she quickly faced accusations of kinslaying and usurpation. When her cousin, the Princess Liona, was attacked by outlaws on the road, Queen Liona was blamed and many of her vassals rose in revolt. When Adrastus II summoned her to court in Arcanopolis to discuss ending the conflict, the prideful and foolhardy Liona brazenly refused the Emperor's request. As a result, Adrastus declared her and her line disinherited and dispatched Imperial forces to assist her rebel vassals. Liona was slain in battle and her son and heir Prince Frederico Scelza was sent to the Imperial Faith. Her cousin was then crowned Queen Liona IV.
