Lord Ethan Goodfellow was the Grand Magistrate of Pelegon to Shahanshah Sirdas I and was in the city of Or-Tal-Van on business of the Golden Falcon Throne. While in the city, Lord Ethan was set upon by assassins hired by Lady Irjila Lora'qin, who slew him and most of his guards. When word reached Queen Jezigo X Jorath, she flew into a rage but nonetheless declared that "Lady Irjila has begun the war to redeem our Empire," beginning the Siaati Uprising.
