Sirdas I Pelegon, often called Sirdas the Victorious, was the 9th Shahanshah. Sirdas I was a warrior Shah and made wars against Byuntun (then still an independent power) and the Badawi. Her crowning achievement was the suppression of the Siaati Uprising.

A dispute over Sirdas’ succession would cause the civil war known as the Years of Blood and Iron. Sirdas’ own role in this war is unclear. When he made his bid for the Golden Falcon Throne in V 182, Prince Beldoran Pelegon claimed that his mother had designated him as her heir on his deathbed, citing his martial ability and competence. However most historians agree that this claim is incredibly unlikely. Pelegon II reigned for two years before his brother made his claim, which begs the question of why Beldoran did not act sooner (though this may be explained by Beldoran taking time to ensure that he had a winning chance before he made a play for the throne).
