The Destruction of Drilek-tol was a major event in the Pelegonic Conquest.
A major hub of the Siaati slave trade, Pelegon I marched on the city with his army. He was met before the city by Calonna Lidayvish, who had hung two thousand slaves from the city walls. Calonna Lidayvish delivered her terms to Pelegon I in a parchment made from the stripped skin of slaves. Pelegon I took the terms without a word and returned to his camp. He ordered his men to leave, and as they marched away from the city he dispatched two messengers: one to Calonna Lidayvish and one to Red Emperor Eshin VII Jorath. The messenger sent to Calonna Lidayvish delivered her only a small box, while the messenger to Emperor Eshin delivered a small letter which stated, "Ask upon the fate of Drilek-tol, I await your submission."
No one knows what sorceries were in the box that Pelegon I delivered to Calonna Lidayvish, but it is known that the explosion annihilated the entire city and nearly all who inhabited it. Those who were not killed outright from the blast suffered severe burns and developed a mysterious sickness which ate them from within.
Within the month, Emperor Eshin had laid his staff of office at the Prophet's feet.
