When Arlak the Despoiler split his army following the destruction he wrought upon Estivan he opted to march south, leaving an army led by his most zealous followers to invade Rivtal. Those followers, led by Orson the Insane, turned out to be as mad as they were loyal. As they marches through the land they cast magics so vile none have yet to understand them in full, much less reverse them. As they marched the very land died leaving behind a broken husk, to his day untouched by life.
Stretching from the Nimsaer where they crossed into Rivtal to its capital where they were finally slain, it forevermore stands as a reminder of Arlak's path of destruction.
