House Nistaleth (NISS-tah-leth) is one of Illhad'or's ancestral houses. It traditionally governed over the northeastern coast of Illhad'or and lands in what is now Laertagne. Its members are primarily shipbuilders, merchants, and seafarers.
The House Premier holds the moonblade Orphimiel.
History
House Nistaleth was one of the nine founding houses of Illhad'or.
Society
Members of House Nistaleth are generally considered to be brash and self-interested. They are generally believed not to put much stock in agreements made with those outside of their organization, but are often intensely loyal within the House.
Nistaleths are found in any port town or large center of trade, and are responsible for transportation of goods across long distances.
Relationships
Most of the other ancestral houses have reason to distrust the loyalties of House Nistaleth, but they have not been historically considered inherently treasonous.
House Nistaleth is a member of the North Sea Treaty pact, which outlines a 5,000 year old trade alliance between itself, House Amaaril, and House Alvaenis for the purposes of textile trade. The Nistaleths were also known to maintain an alliance with the original House Sylnaerith.
The Sindelain Conspiracy
House Nistaleth sided with House Sindelain during the New Years' conflict after the Sindelains promised Nistaleth that they would aid them in reclaiming their ancestral lands. While they did not directly attack the city of Morravin, they were key in the creation of derailments and blockades that would prevent exit from the city by non-magical means.
