In the aftermath of the party's victory over the Grimtotem chief Chief Abequa, the now newly extended group decided to split up a bit: Orida Darkcloud decided to depart together with the party to Malaka'jin -- and from there to Sun Rock Retreat -- while Kenwahl decided to strike out in search of another member of the Grimtotem.
A rather enigmatic-sounding individual by the name Unknown. According to Kenwahl, this Jevan had some disagreements of his own with Grundig Darkcloud's grand plan, and so it was not unlikely that he and the others around him could be somehow swayed. If nothing else, perhaps he could be swayed to meet and talk.
For the party's part, they made their way to Malaka'jin to there return what had been taken from the trolls. The camp was grateful for what the party had accomplished, and most of all pleased that they would no longer have the Grimtotem to worry about so close to their vicinity. Or at least, not for the foreseeable future.
It took the party some days to get back to Sun Rock Retreat by the roads, and once there their list of business to tend to was long. A small week was spent in town, during which the party went to work dealing with a number of hanging threads before they wanted to resume their journies.
First of which was a suspicious mind to whether the Twilight's Hammer perhaps had recruiters lingering in the area, prompted by Gan Jedi. Some odd figures had indeed been about over the past while, fraternizing with the town mages, though according to them such encounters were usually disregarded as hackneyed schemes by overly ambitious spellcasters.
Another point of business was to work through the spoils of their recent battles, selling off valuables, trinkets, and other knick knacks. They also got a chance to rendezvous with the Garrison Commander, Unknown, who was grateful to hear that the Grimtotem might be one less trouble on the town's plate -- even if he was rather caught up in the fact that the tauren bandits were equipping themselves with Alliance weaponry in such a way.
With the garrison's quartermaster, the party encountered one small challenge. Zachariah Hallowhold had interest in acquiring some particular magical reagents, but all such items at the garrison were strictly supplied by need, and getting access to it meant reciving written permission directly from the head of the local magi.
Their quarters were in the mage tower erected near the sloped road up to the garrison, just a short distance away, so the party made a quick journey over to inquire. There they met the head of the tower, a forsaken mage by the name Andreas Withers. Andreas was eager to chat and curious to hear of the party's journies, and thankfully not a stickler as to provide the party with the permissions they'd need to acquire magical reagents from the garrison.
While they also had the chance, they decided to ask Andreas if he knew of anywhere in town where one could acquire enchanting services. The old forsaken could tell them with enthusiasm that a new stationed enchanter had only just recently arrived at the tower, some days ago, though it was to the party's big surprise when they found out that it was Mot Dawnstrider.
The same Mot that they had first encountered in Bloodhoof Village, and whose family were a namesake for enchanting business in Thunder Bluff. Now he was here, pleased to see familiar faces again, and eager to be of service to them. As he did his work, enchanting some of the party's equipment to bolster it, he told them of a place in the mountains some days away from Sun Rock Retreat. Rumours around were that the site of an old elven city by the name Eldre'thar had once been somewhere around there -- and who knew, maybe some parts of it were still intact after all these years?
The possibility definitely piqued the party's interest, who marked it off on their map so they could visit it later on.
