Loose threads Water fey and her trial, Gargoyles still need some help

Short summary:
With the news of a certain fuel source being merely a distraction, and Gargoyles being a force opposing Republican cults worshipping Ancient Ones, we decided to assist them in their endeavors.
Through the portal and through Roanokae Camp, we proceeded to Black Beach - our best bet at acquiring transport through the sea towards our goal. To the surprise of the city guards, we managed to convince some local merchants to allow us to join them, in exchange for protection. This turned out to be very much needed - we were, for some unknown reason, tried by some fey spirit. The trial was one by combat, which involved a water spirit and several ape-like creatures.
Once we reached the south, near the capital city of the Republic, we contacted the Gargoyles. With blindfolds on, we were lead to Gargoyles, whom we needed to convince of our good intentions. Turns out the fuel source has already been secured, it merely needs additional protection. The following day, after preparing defenses, an attack by the military forces of the Graceffa family have been repelled.
At night, to scout the future attack, one of us scouted the enemy camp, acquiring several items of interest. This allowed the Gargoyles to better prepare against the attack two days later. However, a small force managed to squeeze through, which which we promptly followed to the cave where fuel source is located and disposed of the infiltrators.
Full Report
Oh gods, you again? Why do you even do reports?
I dunno. Guess I have a decent memory? Just need someone to stir it up.
Ugh, fine, let's just get it over with, I'll ask questions and you answer them with as much detail as you can. I believe we can just skip the walk to the Portal, Roanokae Camp is a routine by now. Next I've been told is... Black Beach? Why there?
Black Beach is the place of the goblin'y people, aye? Bugbears, or whatever. We hear they get good ships on the continent, and we needed a good ship. Seemed like our best bet. Got someone to speak, and I got my disguise, so we just got through the gates. Guards were fussy, so they came with us to the port. Wanted to see if we don't make trouble. I kinda wanted to make trouble, I really want to get one of our own ships on the Continent. Not that time though. We just got some shady merchants to take us, offered to pay them in protection. They agreed and we sailed off.
Simple enough. Was the road eventful, or did you reach the goal without issues?
Well, there was something. Some watery lady tried to stop us. Russ says she wanted to try us? Something about dirt in water? I think she didn't like the ship we were sailing, it was kinda weird. Some ships in Black Beach didn't even have any sails. How are they even move? Um, sorry, the lady. She... summoned, I guess? Maybe asked? There were a bunch of weird, ape-like things that tried to kill us. We thought we killed them, including the lady, but I guess she just disappeared, and after we defeated the last of the bunch she just spoke again and let us leave.
Strange indeed. Was that the only thing that happened on the ship? What happened later?
Nothing much. Not on the ship at least. We just got close to our goal, the guys just dropped us off, and we continued south. There was a desert, that was annoying but bearable, before we saw some more bugbears. Didn't look like the guys we wanted to help, so we moved to some kind of spot where those Gargoyles can be contacted apparently. At night we were ambushed, blindfolded and taken to someone. Paranoid much? Well, some talking later, we were allowed to help.
Help with what?
Apparently there is this... family, I think? Graceffa they're called? Oh, and there was a town, and a cave where some fuel is. I guess these "Graceffa" really wanted that fuel, so we had to make people leave their homes and in the town we hid so that once they come we can stop them there. Gargoyles got most of 'em, but there were a few that we had to stop personally. Some simple warriors, and couple guys that were flinging magic. They got me good, but were pretty fine to deal with. Had to get some revenge on them later, though.
What do you mean "revenge"?
At night I wanted to get back at 'em, so I asked Arthur if he can get me one of the bugbears and their bikes to ride me as close to their camp as possible. I'm quite decent sneak, so between that and a potion of invisibility I managed to sneak in, heard something here and there, and even grabbed a bunch of stuff that they were going to use. I think that helped us prepare for their attack better. They barely dented the Gargoyles then.
Was that really that easy? Two fights with infiltration inbetween?
Oh, well, pretty much? I guess some of 'em got through and got to the cave we were apparently protecting. The one with the fuel? Yeah, some of those same warrior types as the other day, and some big bat was with them. That took a bit of effort. We weren't allowed into the cave before, though, so we kinda used that chance to explore a bit. We got some device from them after, so that we can contace them in the future. Just gotta find an easy way to sail there.
