Nomadic Dragonborn Tribe

he Brass Tribe is a nomadic clan of brass Dragonborn descended from the Brass Dragon, adapted to the unforgiving arid deserts in The Sun Realm for countless generations. Renowned for their rigid warrior culture, the tribe prizes strength above all else, and their traditions are steeped in valor and survival. Despite enduring relentless challenges from both the desert's predators and external persecution, the Brass Tribe has persisted, carving their legacy into the sands of The Sands of Serrakhan.

Culture and Traditions

Warrior Culture

The Brass Tribe thrives on strength and combat. From an early age, aspiring dragonborn warriors are taught that their worth is measured by their might. The tribe’s young are sent into the perilous Dune Sea alone as a coming-of-age ritual, tasked with hunting dangerous desert creatures such as Drakkhid or Sandwyrm. Those who return with their prize earn their place among the warriors of the tribe.

Elder Succession

The tribe's leadership is determined by strength alone. The elder is not chosen by age or wisdom but by combat. To ascend as the elder, a dragonborn must defeat the reigning elder in one-on-one combat—a duel to the death. Only the strongest may lead, ensuring the tribe's survival in the harsh desert.

Echoes of Battle

Wherever the Brass Tribe makes camp, the sounds of battle ring across the dunes. Aspiring warriors duel for glory, skill, and camaraderie. These battles, though fierce, are rarely to the death and serve as a form of both entertainment and training.

Spoken History

The history of the Brass Tribe is preserved through songs and stories told around roaring campfires beneath the desert stars. The Ballad of the Brass, an epic song of the tribe’s resilience and valor, is their most treasured tale. The ballad has evolved over generations, with new verses commemorating their triumphs and trials.

Persecution and Survival

The Brass Tribe is not only hunted by the dangerous creatures of the Serrakhan Desert but also by the Order of the Flaming Sun, a chivalric order of monster hunters serving the Serrakhan Sultanate. The sultanate views the dragonborn as savage beasts, their nomadic lifestyle and fierce independence seen as threats to the growing empire. Despite this persecution, the Brass Tribe has endured, their resolve hardened by centuries of trials.

Legacy

With each new generation, their history grows, passed down through the Ballad of the Brass and the tales told under the desert sky. Bane of The Brass

The Sands of Serrakhan

The once-proud Brass Tribe, known for their strength and resilience in the unforgiving expanse of The Sands of Serrakhan, has met a tragic end at the hands of Karthus Wargrym and his blood-thirsty assassins, the Rift-Reavers. This brutal massacre, carried out in devotion to Bhaal, the god of murder, has left the tribe decimated and their legacy tarnished by bloodshed.

Kairus the Brass, returning from his journey with The Sunsations, was greeted by a horrifying sight: smoke billowing over the dune-sea, signaling a catastrophe. As he approached the camp, he saw smoldering campfires, brass and white tents, and a once vibrant encampment now eerily silent. The closer he got, the more he saw the extent of the carnage. Blood splattered tents and the lifeless bodies of his Dragonborn kin, cut down swiftly and without mercy, painted a grim picture of the ambush.

The Rift-Reavers, clad in black masks and hoods, had struck with deadly precision. These assassins, handpicked and trained by Karthus Wargrym, were experts in the art of murder, their very presence exuding an aura of death. Wielding rapier-like blades forged from black steel that absorbed the light around them, they fed on the vitality of their victims, leaving nothing but despair in their wake.

Karthus Wargrym, reveling in the destruction, taunted Kairus with a chilling remark at the Sharizian Sensations gala, to goad and enrage him. For Karthus and his followers, the act of killing was not merely for power or conquest but a ritualistic offering to their god. The massacre of the Brass Tribe was a testament to their allegiance to Bhaal, their actions driven by the desire to inflict pain and chaos.

In the midst of the devastation, Kairus found Azael the Warlock, the sole survivor of the tribe, who pulled him into a pocket dimension to strategize their next move. Azael revealed the overwhelming power of the Rift-Reavers and the theft of Kairus' father's sword by Karthus. Together, they vowed to reclaim their honor and seek vengeance for their fallen kin.
