Bloodhand

This character is dead.
Captain of The Gloomguard
NPC

In his mortal life, Bloodhand was an honorable Orc warrior from Tolria who respected strength above all else. His name was feared and revered in equal measure, as he fought with unparalleled ferocity and honored the ancient Orcish code of valor and victory in battle. However, upon his death, his shadow was twisted into something far more sinister. In The Shadowfell, Bloodhand became the cruel and sadistic enforcer of Shadowlord Decimus, serving as the brutal captain of the Gloomguard, the oppressive militant organization that ruled over the City of Evernight.

Bloodhand’s appearance was particularly frightening, a testament to his transformation into a nightmarish warden of the Shadowfell. He bore a metal half-mask, fused grotesquely to the lower half of his face, which concealed much of his scarred and twisted visage. His armor was crude, jagged iron, reflecting his brutal nature and the violent life he led. Bloodhand wielded a massive iron cleaver, its edge stained permanently with the blood of those who had crossed him. Yet, the most infamous feature of his appearance was his blood-stained left gauntlet, which he used to finish off his foes in a display of merciless strength.

His blood-red eyes gleamed with malice, and his shadowy nature as an enforcer of Decimus twisted what once was an Orcish code of strength into a perverted obsession with cruelty and domination. Bloodhand showed no mercy, using his position to instill fear and break the spirit of those he once might have respected.

As captain of the Gloomguard, Bloodhand held responsibility over the security of the Ebony Fortress and the wider city of Evernight. Under his leadership, the Gloomguard became infamous for their harsh punishments, often reflecting the captain's sadistic nature. His reign of terror continued until the aftermath of the Battle of the Four Armies, where Bloodhand met his end—overrun by a tidal wave of Wererats and Illithid that overtook the city.

Bloodhand's legacy is one of twisted honor, his once-noble beliefs in strength and valor corrupted into a force of sheer brutality in the shadowy service of Decimus.
