Archmage Kelak Nilfard

As a much younger and inexperienced member of the Infinitum Cult, Kelak experienced much conflict in the visions he received from the watcher in the Abyss, but felt that he is forced to be a part of grander designs to ensure his brother's safety throughout all of the ensuing madness. Kelak was the acting aide and hand to the Iron Emperor of Bastile, Caeus the Cold Hearted. After being 'saved' by his brother Kalekai in a fire that killed his family, he was inducted into the Infinitum Cult for the majority of his lifetime. Becoming aware of the manipulations and lies of his older brother, he decided to aid the a legendary band of adventurers to defeat Kalekai in the events of the third continuum crisis. Mysteriously arriving within The Sands of Serrakhan, he founded the Neznámy and aided the Emris Adventuring Guild in constructing the marvelous Solace Atheneum. Appearing to The Sunsations aboard the desk of the Sky's Edge airship, Kelak informed the band of adventurers of the danger posed by the Infinity shards which were increasingly found within the western continent. Offering his services and a ball of scrying in which to contact him, Kelak disappeared from the boat in similar fashion to which he arrived..

Living for centuries took its toll on Kelak, and so he sought a successor in not only the title of Archmage, but also the Avatar of Air. Eventually he would tell Guy the Grateful that the elemental essence of air had chosen him after Guy met Goldbrand and traversed the elemental realms. In a bid to protect The Sunsations, he used dark magic to cause an unnatural eclipse before destroying dozens of Imperial Airships in the events of the Aegis of the Archmage.

The Archmage's Intervention

In a pivotal moment that would come to be known as "The Archmage's Intervention," Kelak Nilfard, the revered Archmage of Thouran, was summoned into the heart of a dire conflict within the undersea city of Atla. The city, a beacon of Triton and Neznámy civilization found itself on the brink of collapse under the weight of a full-blown Illithid infection compounded by an impending raid of infected Sahuagin.

The call for help came through a sending stone, a gift previously bestowed upon The Sunsations, a band of adventurers, by Kelak himself. Despite the situation's urgency, Kelak's arrival was tinged with frustration as he admonished the party for their delayed plea for assistance. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Kelak took immediate action.

In a decisive display of power, Kelak suspended the flow of time around him, granting a fleeting moment of respite amid chaos. He then summoned a meteor shower from the depths of the cosmos, a spectacular yet devastating rain of fire that obliterated the infected sahuagin raiding parties massed at the city's gates. This forceful intervention scattered the invaders, sowing confusion and disarray within their ranks.

Kelak's timely intervention provided a critical window for the remaining citizens of Atla to seek refuge. Guiding the survivors, Kelak led them to the Neznámy, a sanctuary within the city. It was here, in the relative safety of the temple, that Kelak confronted The Sunsations.

Kelak's rebuke of The Sunsations was multifaceted. He expressed his dismay at their late invocation of his aid, highlighting the precariousness of their situation. His critique extended to Brick, a member of the adventuring party, whom Kelak chastised for dabbling in the dark arts of necromancy. Brick's actions, Kelak argued, had contributed to the catastrophic loss of life within Atla, amounting to an unintended genocide of its people.
