Serpent's Shore Hideout

This location is destroyed.

Serpent’s Shore Hideout was once a clandestine coastal redoubt for the remnants of the Snake Cult, nestled within a jagged network of sea-carved caves along the western shoreline of The Sands of Serrakhan. Hidden from the eyes of the Sultanate and perched at the edge of the Moonlit Mariner’s Coast, it served as a primary refuge for serpent-worshippers, including the notorious Yuan-ti Pureblood assassin "Zoltan the Fang"

The hideout was destroyed following a direct incursion by The Sunsations, and though the cult was purged, the land itself would not remain unchanged. After the Conjunction of the Realms, the entire coastline was reshaped—transfigured by Faewyld influence into a warped, overgrown seascape.

History & Cult Occupation

For years, the shoreline caverns of the western coast went unnoticed—marked only by the salt winds and echoing gulls. It was here that the surviving agents of the Snake Cult, long thought broken after the exodus from Shariz, found sanctuary. They carved chambers into the stone, stockpiled venomous relics, and performed rituals beneath the tide.

At the center of their operations was Zoltan the Fang, a Yuan-ti assassin. His presence transformed the hideout from a camp into a temple of slow corruption. Through him, the cult maintained distant communion with deeper horrors beneath the waves.

Purge by the Sunsations

Their secrecy did not last. Intelligence gathered by Emrys Adventuring Guild scouts and a recovered cultist diary led the Sunsations to the caves. What followed was a brutal engagement in the dark—an assault through flooded tunnels and bloodstained altars.

Zoltan was slain by Talyen in personal combat, his fanged jaw shattered and cast into the tide. The cultists were burned, their relics broken, and the temple sanctum collapsed. The hideout was declared purged and abandoned.

The cave system was sealed—its mouth blackened and choked with rubble.

Terrestrial Terraforming

Years later, following the Conjunction of the Realms and the Promythean catastrophe, the coastline itself changed. The entire Moonlit Mariners' Crest west of the Faewylds was reshaped by Plane of Faewyld bleed—flora twisted, tides pulled in directions not governed by any moon, and once-stable terrain warped into fungal coves and bioluminescent mangroves.

The ruin of the Serpent’s Shore Hideout remains buried somewhere within this shifting terrain, though none have returned to chart its new form. The cave has likely reopened, now part of a living shoreline where reality is thinner and time drips like oil.
