Isilynor Faeren

Vanir Captain

Isilynor Faeren is a seasoned Vanir Marine, a steadfast warrior who has faithfully served House Gwaithor and the fleets of Aerenal for centuries. Born into a long line of mariners, Isilynor followed in the footsteps of his father, who had also dedicated his life to the defense of Aerenal’s shores and the honor of House Gwaithor. Through centuries of naval service, Isilynor proved himself to be a disciplined and unshakable warrior, rising from sailor to the ranks of the esteemed Vanir Marines.

Standing tall and broad-shouldered, Isilynor is the very image of Vanir strength and discipline—his silver hair bound back in a warrior’s knot, his sharp blue eyes ever-watchful. He wears brass and silver-enlaid Vanir armor, emblazoned with the sigil of a white phoenix, a symbol of House Gwaithor’s enduring flame and naval supremacy.

Turning the Tide

Isilynor’s moment of great renown came during a critical diplomatic voyage, when Avatar Guy the Grateful returned to Aerenal from peace negotiations with the Valar of The Immortal Isle. While sailing through The Silver Veil Sea, their vessel came under the shadow of a vengeful Miavryar, the ancient Mist Drake, who sought to destroy the ship and slaughter the Vanir aboard.

Yet, it was Isilynor who stepped forward to challenge Miavryar—not with steel, but with truth.

Standing firm, he recounted the history of The Riftfire Rebellion, revealing that the Vanir of Aerenal had never betrayed their draconic creators. Their hands bore no guilt for the war that had driven Miavryar into exile. His words struck at the heart of the dragon’s fury, unraveling the foundations of his vengeance.

Miavryar, faced with the weight of truth, relented. Rather than destroy the ship, he agreed to accompany Avatar Guy to The Elden Council, where he would decide his fate not with fire, but with wisdom.

Sworn Oath to the Avatar

For his bravery and diplomacy, Isilynor Faeren was put forth for promotion to Captain, a rare and esteemed honor granted by Avatar Guy the Grateful himself. The Elden Council of Aerenal, bearing witness to his valor, accepted the Avatar’s nomination—elevating Isilynor from a marine of the fleet to Captain of House Gwaithor’s elite forces.

Yet, in his gratitude, Isilynor did not see this honor as a gift, but as a duty. Kneeling before the Avatar, he offered his life in service, vowing to follow Guy on his voyage to Tolria, where the fate of the realms would be decided.

Thus, Isilynor Faeren, once a simple marine, now sails not only as a captain of Aerenal—but as a sworn protector of the Avatar himself.
