Bel, the elephant god, is the god of order, destiny, and the movement of the stars, is venerated with solemn rituals by The Celestial Order, composed of many of the cities Iron Guard of Seregon. The Iron Guard, clad in their meticulously polished armor, gather around a stone altar in a sacred grove dedicated to Bel. The altar is engraved with celestial patterns and symbols representing the constellations, emphasizing Bel's dominion over the cosmos.
The Celestial Order name reflects their devotion to the structured, cosmic forces of Bel and their reverence for the divine patterns governing the universe. It also evokes a sense of solemnity and the importance of their rituals in maintaining cosmic harmony.
As the ritual begins, the Iron Guard prepares the sacrificial animal, a white ram symbolizing purity and order. Hired bards, their faces tense, stand at a respectful distance, clutching their instruments. They begin to chant a prayer to Bel, their voices rising in a harmonious but somewhat uneasy melody. The bards, unused to such bloodshed, find the act unsettling but understand the necessity of the ritual in maintaining the divine balance that Bel represents.
As the prayer reaches its peak, the appointed member of the Iron Guard swiftly ends the animal's life, its blood spilling onto the altar. The blood, seen as a sacred offering, is believed to strengthen the bond between the mortal world and the divine order established by Bel. The bards continue their chant, though their voices waver slightly, as the ritual concludes with a solemn vow to uphold the god's will and maintain the order of the stars and destiny.
