Grand Colosseum

The Grand Coliseum, located in the Harbour District of Seregon, is a domed stone arena known for hosting gladiatorial games, animal combats, and extravagant circuses. The coliseum is a hub of excitement and spectacle, where the city's best gladiators become celebrities, earning both fame and fortune. Statues of the arena's greatest champions line the tops of its walls, including one of Cas Coevorden (House Coevorden), a former gladiator who rose to prominence as a wealthy merchant and politician in The Assembly after retiring from the arena.

The arena is managed by Viryx Talriss, a formidable female Dragonborn of copper dragon lineage. With her sharp wit, commanding presence, and a natural talent for organization, Viryx has turned the Grand Coliseum into a well-oiled machine of entertainment. Her draconic heritage gives her a slightly intimidating presence, with coppery scales that glint in the sunlight and eyes that seem to see through any deception. Viryx is known for her fair but firm management style, ensuring that the games are as safe as possible for the gladiators while still providing the thrills the crowds expect. She also has a deep respect for the fighters, understanding the risks they take and the skill required to survive in the arena.

Events at the Grand Coliseum are held most afternoons, with major spectacles reserved for holidays. The weekly lineup includes qualifying matches, consolation bouts, and smaller events, while holidays feature grandiose shows. These might involve gladiators portraying legendary heroes battling pirates, velociraptors clashing with tigers, or mages dueling captured ghouls, skeletons, or zombies. The games are known for their brutality, but they are more sporting than many other arenas in the region, with well-trained combatants who often survive even if they lose.

The food sold to attendees reflects the grand nature of the events.
