Elanyth Merellien

Elanyth was the Crossborn ruler of the Queendom of Elthys in southern Head of the Greatwyrm, a nation established hundreds of years prior to Common Unification. The house of Merellien wielded its power with absolute authority in the region, and while few were ever permitted to meet her, she maintained complete sovereignty over her queendom.

No official story regarding Elanyth's lifespan was ever given to the public, and rumours swirled that the ruler in the capital city City of Merellien was the same queen who had established her monarchy hundreds of years ago. These rumours claimed that she was kept young through occult magic, using the blood of her citizens to retain her youth. Elanyth's iron grip over the populace, however, prevented these whispers from being anything more, as any who openly spoke of rebellion quickly disappeared.

In the Unholy Siege Of Fort Verdane, an army of undead prevented the Common League from pushing south, and it was suspected that the dark magic of her house was responsible for conjuring the horde.

They stated that she should have died generations ago, but Outside of her domain, she was sometimes referred to as "Elanyth the Undying", or pejoratively as the "Lich-Queen of Elthys".
