Considered to be the most momentous piece of legislation in written history, the Common Unification was formalized by the Court of the Torch in Emblem at year 0, on the first day of Crossover. For a half-generation prior to Unification, Iodun Myrdinn led a campaign across the Somnum to unite the continent. He succeeded in persuading or conquering most of the regions west of the Giantlands, though was unable to overtake the Elthysi Sovereign or the Scycaen Imperium, and was not aware of the protected island of Ty-Pharess.
With all members of the new Common League present to witness its ratification, the Unification marked a new beginning. Though the many nations counted amongst its banner remained culturally disparate, over decades, cultures began to amalgamate. The Common Language became dominant, a Common Calendar was made, and the world of Mortalkind grew more stable.
