Court of the Torch

As the place where Common Unification was ratified, thousands of important Laws and treatises were formalized, and uncountable political schemes were launched, the Court of the Torch was the most important political location in Commona. Located in the heart of Emblem, the Court was made up of important figures from all Common League member states, known as the Council of Commonlight; it was also regularly visited by dignitaries from Emblem itself. All decisions made here had supreme authority over any legal disputes, both within and between League members, and discussions could be attended by the public.

The court was circular, and was watched over by statues of the first leaders who ratified Commona. In the grasp of each statue was a powerful magical artifact that their leaders owned prior to Unification, who gave up some of their greatest magical items to show faith in the united good of the League. Notably, the statue of the Court's creator Iodun Myrdinn openly bore the tome Cometfall, the single most dangerous weapon in the known world, as well as Stonebinder, another Epochal Artifact of nation-defining power.

Due to the vulnerability of this concentration of magic, the Court was incredibly well-protected by a variety of Abjurations, dozens of locks and traps, and scores of Torchwarden who guarded the inner sanctum at all hours of the day.
