Flameborn

Flameborn, also called fire genasi, were a type of Genieborn Mortalkind whose bodies bore the mark of elemental flame. Though some appeared very physically similar to other smallfolk, others looked more magical, with deep red, bronze, or near-black skln tones, sometimes veined with glowing streaks like cracks in cooling lava. A flameborn's hair might flicker and waver as though made of living fire, or simply shine in rich hues of copper, auburn, or gold. Their eyes could glow like embers or blaze with molten yellows and oranges, and some flameborn radiated a dry heat noticeable to those nearby.

The abilities of the flameborn reflected the elemental power within their bloodline, possessing a darkvision that let them see without light. Resistance to fire damage came naturally to them, along with an instinctive talent for flame-based Spellcraft. Many could conjure fire in their hands, illuminate dark spaces with a spark, or unleash destructive bursts of heat in battle. Their ancestry often traced back to the Efreeti, the mighty fire Genieof the Elemental Realm of Fire; some lines drew from lesser fire Elementalor other planar beings steeped in heat and ash. This connection gave them an affinity not only for open flame, but for the searing and transformative nature of fire itself.

The temperament of flameborn was often shaped by their elemental heritage, as they innately understood and spoke Ignan. Many shared the restless, passionate, and sometimes unpredictable nature of fire; quick to act, fiercely determined, and driven by strong emotion. Some embodied its destructive aspects, prone to sharp tempers and sudden decisions, while others reflected its sustaining warmth, offering inspiration, protection, and vitality to those around them. Whether fierce or gentle, most flameborn carried a spark of intensity in their demeanor; an ever-present reminder of the elemental power that flowed through their veins.
