Roughly translating to "Elder Magic" in the Sylvan tongue, the Forests of Mana Thalor marked the boundary between Ardhon Miniel and the Common League. The largest known wood Elf population north of Xilvalur occupied the Forests of Mana Thalor, and guarded the woods with intense vigor; they did not always get along with their high kin in Vael’thirion, but acted together to protect the city.
Mana Thalor stretched across the eastern half of Ardhon Miniel, with trees standing taller than any built walls. Magic ran through the roots, and the elves who lived there rarely left, bound to the forest by duty and blood. They guarded the old places, from Common League encroachment, as the nearby settlement of Avenir resulted in Humans often wandering into the forest in search of protection or power. The elves resisted the spread of humans at first, seeing the encroachment as a threat; conflicts flared, and for many years, Avenir and Ardhon Miniel remained at odds.
Over time however, the proliferation of Crossborn birthed in the chaos would end up bridging the divide between the two peoples, and locals of the Common League began seeing it as their responsibility to guard the Forests of Mana Thalor.
