Located in the Seahills and separated from the mainland by the Snoutridge, Avenir was a member of the Common League. Despite its apparent remoteness, it was a highly defensible town, with numerous magical wards in place to stave off the threat of pirates from the Siren's Isles. Historically, Avenir had often been in possession of the Scycaen Imperium, but had fought off their occupiers across a series of rebellions until Common Unification.
Avenir's proximity to the Forests of Mana Thalor resulted in many Human residents attempting to cross into Ardhon Miniel for adventure, refuge, or knowledge. Conflicts naturally flared with the local Elven Rangers, and for many years, Avenir and Mana Thalor remained at odds; however, over time, Crossborn bridged the divide between the two peoples. Avenir changed, becoming a place where elves and humans met in understanding.
Wizards, scholars, and seers gathered there, and the town’s people built towers of silvered glass and halls filled with books older than their own ancestors. Half-elves found refuge there, many seeking to understand both sides of their heritage. The elves of Mana Thalor still watched from the shadows, wary of human ambition, but they no longer turned away all who sought them. Some even took human apprentices, passing down knowledge once kept only for their own kind.
Many of Avenir's residents could speak Common, Elven, and Scycaen fluently, and were skilled mariners and mages.
