Scycaen

Known in Commona as "Scycaen", Rundejh-Scyc was the "Language of the Imperial Land". It was highly protected and spoken throughout the Scycaen Imperium, though there were region-based changes in accentThe language contained traces of CommonArdhon Miniel Elven, and Skypeak Dwarven, though how much each language influenced the other was a matter of studied debate.

The base of all Scycaen language was around the four Elementswater (a/"ah"), fire (i/"ee"), earth (o/"oh"), and air (u/"oo"). Most words followed some logic around their vowel placement and how they related to the elements, though many changed due to linguistical shifts over time.

Uniquely, Scycaen made frequent use of sibilant alveolar fricatives ("S" and "Z" sounds), creating a very unique-sounding dialect. Most words began and ended with consonants, and generally, nouns were pluralized by adding an "ae" (as in "algae") to the end of the word. To indicate continuity to words (e.g. "ing"), "em" was added to the end.

Scycaen naming convention often used a prefix when describing names, such as "Mountain Range" of "Cinder" becoming Toror-Mir. There was no word such as "of" used to indicate origin; in speech, this was intonated through pause, while in writing, this was expressed through a hyphen.

In general, the word "of" and other words suggesting belonging did not exist in Scycaen language, but were intonated through pause in speech. In writing, , but were denoted in writing with a hypen.

In general, the harsh "sc" denoted an official government status; e.g., "sil" meant "home" or "house", but "Scil" meant "Imperial Home", denoting a city.
