A near 100-mile radius circular “desert” bordered by the mountainous eastern Neck of the Greatwyrm, the Shattered Glass transitioned to into plains in the Body of the GreatwyrmThough referred to as a desert, this land almost resembled a sea. It was entirely composed of glass shards that flowed like sand, creating dunes and ergs that whipped in the wind. The size of this glass ranged from visible to microscopic, and made foot-travel across it impossible.

Many Mortalkind theories and conspiracies were made about the close-to-perfect circularity of the Glass, but the true lore of this place was long lost to time.  Even for those able to travel above the land, the Shattered Glass was considered to be phenomenally dangerous. High winds descending from the mountains became storms across the desert, resulting in scouring gales of glass that could flay the skin off a mortal's body. In the daytime, the sun could focuses through the glass or reflect off it, creating lethal levels of heat and random concentrated beams of radiant energy.

As a result of its impossibly harsh conditions, the scarce flora and fauna that lived in the Shattered Glass were singularly unique, but few researchers were strong or brave enough to learn more about these creatures.
