An enhanced weapon had undergone Transmutation to be far more lethal than its mundane variant. Spellcraft applied during its forging made it deadlier, lighter, and extremely difficult to break via non-magical methods. This transmutation also allowed it to damage creatures that would be otherwise resistant or immune to standard weapons, such as Fiends or Undead.
Enhanced weapons designed for melee typically retained their magic unless somehow destroyed, while enhanced ammunition, such as arrows or sling bullets, would lose their magic upon impact. This type of enhanced ammunition was considered far less valuable due to this flaw, and this lack of price made them far more affordable for many soldiers, merchants, and adventurers.
Varieties of enhanced weapons were often categorized by their magical sharpness, typically referred to as "enhanced", "greater enhanced", "superior enhanced", and "supreme enhanced". The value of the object increased exponentially based on its rarity and power.
