An uncommonly large and powerful breed of Dog, malamutes were characterized by their thick, double-layered coats of fur, which provided insulation against extreme cold and harsh weather conditions. Some were trained as sled dogs, as heir sturdy builds and powerful limbs enabled them to pull sleds laden with supplies or navigate treacherous terrain with ease.
Closely related to Wolves, Malamutes were dangerous to humanoids in combat, but were generally considered resilient and brave creatures.
