The giant owl was a majestic and formidable predator that terrorized large animals of the Material Realm. Towering above its smaller Owl kin, this avian predator possessed an imposing presence, keen senses, and formidable hunting prowess. They were easily identified by their immense size, with wingspans stretching up to twenty feet or more. Its feathers were a mix of earthy browns, grays, and whites, providing excellent camouflage against both daytime and nighttime landscapes. Its eyes, large and penetrating, gleamed with intelligence and acute vision, enabling it to spot prey from great distances.
Giant owls nested in ancient forests, secluded mountain caves, or atop tall cliffs where they built massive nests from branches, leaves, and animal fur. Solitary by nature, they patrolled vast territories, preying on smaller creatures such as Elk, Wolves, or even unwary adventurers who ventured too close to their domain.
In rare occasions, giant owls could be trained to be mounts; however, they were highly reactive and fiercely independent creatures. As such, their domestication usually required Spellcraft employed by a Druid or Ranger to charm them.
