In Curse Of Strahd, Fekre contacted Ezmerelda D'Avenir, sensing that the monster hunter was getting desperate outside of Argynvostholt while waiting for Pack. She was soundly rejected by her, however, as Ezmerelda had already believed that a Dark Bargain had compromised her friend Ghalwin of the Grove. Seeing that the Vistani was not a suitable candidate, she bid her time while her power was still strong, and eventually found Oxoryn Ipniani, who accepted her pact.
Ipniani relied on Fekre's abilities to overwhelm Barovia's horrors with magical contagion and rot, and near-fully allowed Fekre control of her body. Despite strong will, the Ipniani ended up trapped alone in the Amber Temple, with her party dead and only a Quasit Familiar to keep her company. Fekre allowed her Paladin to hide in the lecture hall, waiting for a change in the temple guardian Neferon's attention to make a break to release her. Before this could happen, however, Ipniani was encountered by the Heralds of Dawn.
Though the paladin tried to lie and get on the side of the party, Ajuni Elajoral sussed out that the Dragonborn had made a pact, and eventually, Fekre took over Ipniani to fight the party. Though overwhelmed, she fought back, and eventually gave Fekre full control at the cost of her own life. With a wave of poisonous energy, she coated Ipniani's body in a dreadful form and nearly killed the Heralds, until Ajuni reached forward and dispelled Fekre's possession of the dead paladin. Fekre's magic was quelled, and it would take her centuries to recoup enough power to contact an adventurer again.
