Sporehome existed as the primary colony of the Mycowood, sitting in the base and within the pores of the greatest mushroom in the Reaching Grove, referred to as the "One Who Remembers". The ground consisted of thick roots and mycelium cords that rose above the soil to form walls and arches. Residents lived in hollowed trunks of dead growths that leaned against the central stalk, their dwellings scraped smooth and lined with soft moss, or within the great cap that towered over the forest. Broad fungal shelves served as gardens and resting places for the inhabitants.

The One Who Remembers stood taller than any tree in the forest and acted as the true will behind the expansion of the Reaching Grove. Its stalk remained pitted and scarred while its cap pulsed with thick veins of purple magic. Twelve massive eyes sat under the cap, though they appeared nonfunctional. This entity was older than the forest councils and potentially older than the wood itself; it could not speak, but was believed to shape the dreams and thoughts of every living thing in the vicinity.

The air in the settlement hung heavy with a sweet spore mist that smelled of damp loam, but unlike the choking clouds found elsewhere, this mist facilitated a communal rhythm of thought. Dreams in this place were shared across dozens of minds simultaneously, and the smallest sprouts grew with an inherent awareness of their purpose. Even the rare visitors to Sporehome found their individual thoughts softened and pulled into the collective memory of the colony.

The Myconid Sovereign of Sporehome served as the interpreter for the One Who Remembers. This leader guided the decisions of other sovereigns across the wood based on the intent of the central fungus. The colony functioned without a traditional council or government because the inhabitants followed the shared visions provided by the entity, maintaining peace without walls or weapons.
