Born in Farrozandmar, Mica was orphaned at a young age. He grew up stealing from the Far Sands Market along a host of other orphans, while being taken care of by various concerned islanders and businesses. He learned to wheel and deal at the market as a teenager, and eventually became a known fixture on the docks, but never settled into a single position despite his charm.
When a position as a cook at Bleak End was opened, Mica saw his opportunity and deceived the recruiters by claiming to be an experienced chef. He took on the offer, readying himself to join twenty-three others on the journey to Aone Island.
