Fire Elemental

Fire elementals were beings of living flame drawn from the Elemental Realm of Fire. Their forms flickered in roughly humanoid outlines, limbs and torsos defined by roiling tongues of heat and light. They moved with speed and sudden shifts of direction, more like a spreading blaze than a solid creature. Their touch could ignite flammable objects, and their very presence dried and blackened the air around them. Though capable of speaking Ignan, they rarely did so, and typically resented being bound into service on the Prime Material.

As Elementals, they required no air, food, drink, or sleep. Water repelled them, and they could not willingly enter it without risk of destruction. Within their blazing forms flowed a supernatural ichor, a volatile substance sometimes harvested as a magical reagent when one was destroyed. This essence retained traces of the elemental’s primal heat and was valued in certain arcane practices.

In battle, fire elementals fought with ferocity and directness. They burned enemies with searing touches, often setting flesh, cloth, and timber alight in moments, and only magical arms such as Enhanced Weapons could harm them. When pressed, they struck with slamming blows of condensed flame, leaving victims ablaze and struggling to extinguish themselves. They showed little restraint on the Material Plane, taking evident satisfaction in reducing obstacles and foes alike to ash.
