Earth Elemental

Earth elementals were beings of living stone and soil, native to the Elemental Realm of Earth and seldom encountered beyond it. They bore a vaguely humanoid shape, with heavy torsos, thick legs, and club-like arms formed from jagged rock. Their heads were masses of packed earth and stone, sometimes studded with veins of metal, raw gems, or mineral deposits embedded within their bodies. They moved at a slow, deliberate pace, each step carrying the weight of grinding stone. Though capable of speech in Terran, they rarely spoke, and like most intelligent Elementals they resented being summoned and bound to mortal service.

As creatures of pure element, earth elementals required no air, food, drink, or sleep. They could glide through unworked, nonmagical earth and stone as though it were liquid, passing through walls of natural rock or sinking into the ground without resistance. While in contact with solid ground, they perceived their surroundings through tremorsense, precisely locating creatures by the vibrations of their movement. Mundane weapons proved largely ineffective against them, their stony forms resisting bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing blows unless the weapons were Enhanced.

In battle, earth elementals relied on brute strength striking with crushing slams capable of breaking bone and splintering shields. Their mass and resilience made them living siege engines, able to batter down fortifications and shatter walls, particularly those of stone or packed earth. Against structures, they were relentless and methodical, reducing defenses to rubble through sustained assault.
