Beyond a massive, rune-scored door at the back of the Faeriefort lay Sprite's Hollow, a broad cavern turned into a sort of farmland and granary. An underground stream cut through the stone and spilled in narrow waterfalls, feeding clear pools and winding channels that irrigated terraced shelves of moss and loam. Miniature crops grew in ordered plots no wider than a boot print, sustained by steady mist and the glow of cultivated fungi. Direct sunlight never reached this place, but it remained bright with soft light and and Fairy Spellcraft.

Unlike the fortified village the cavern was attached to, the hollow was not sealed against the Murkmire MarshlandsWater was carried in cupped leaves, shoots were trimmed with slivers of shell, and songs were sung to coax stubborn sprouts from the earth. The fairies allowed small Beasts, insects, and tiny flying creatures to enter along the stream or through cracks in the stone to provide renewal; these creatures pollinated blossoms, hunted pests, and carried seeds. The Fey accepted this traffic as the price of balance, relying on natural cycles as much as their careful tending to keep the soil fertile.

The other entrance into Sprite's Holow led further underground, into the Undermire. The fairies also sealed off this narrow cavern with a doorway, fearing the magic and horrors that lay in the Deepways.
