Bag of Tricks

Bags of Tricks appeared to be simple cloth sacks, most often woven in muted shades of gray, rust, or tan, but contained Conjuration magic. Though they seemed empty, anyone reaching inside found small, soft objects hidden within the bag. These enchanted tokens resembled fuzzy balls of fur, each carrying dormant life. When one of the objects was thrown, it transformed upon landing into a living Beast.

The summoned creature recognized the bearer of the bag and their companions as allies. It followed simple commands and fought, traveled, or stood watch as directed. If left without instruction, it behaved according to its natural instincts while remaining friendly to those who had called it forth. The type of beast summoned depended on the bag's enchantment, with each bag producing a different assortment of animals. The summoned beast remained until the following dawn or until it was slain, after which it vanished without leaving a body behind.

Each bag held only a limited number of enchanted objects. After three beasts had been summoned, the bag's magic lay dormant until the next dawn, when its supply was restored.
