Last time, we picked up as Kaida and Kyr headed to The Detention Bog to serve their community service for disrupting the peace (at least in Prof Rachard's eyes). Kyr wasn't bothered by the idea of detention this weekend though -- he had the idea to go looking for more fey frogs like the ones that Rosimyffenbip "Rosie" Wuzfeddlims found. No frogs were turned fey in this session; instead, Kyr and Kaida came across a broken down Ruin Grinder that had been trapped in the muck, and with some difficulty (on Kyr's end) managed to wade through the mud to find that it was carrying two crates of mysterious black goop. One of these crates had been dropped and was leaking into the bog. Kaida noticed that the crates were stamped with a delivery notice, stating that they had come from the mines of Nychonius and were headed to Dapplewing Manor. Kaida was quick to grab professor River Woods who ended detention early and assured them he would be speaking to the headmaster about this.
Feeling like this should be a guild issue, Kaida followed up with headmaster Thaddeus Coleraton and asked that he inform Keya Inafir, which he agreed to do. He told her that they had managed to clean up the bog after this unfortunate mistake, and that members of The Fysi Guild would be coming to campus to ensure that there was no lasting ecological impact from the spill.
Ignis spent some time that weekend with the Students of Faith club and learned a little more about spirituality from their classmates. They were given a copy of the Vilerón to read, and learned how to do guided meditation with Amber Bracegirdle.
Kyr and Tyr spent some time with Grandpa Ilias Kathos and learned that he had heard of Keya Inafir before, though had never met her himself. He told them that she was the leader of an exploration team for The Simera Guild back in his day, and he was pretty sure her wife also was a guild member, though he couldn't remember which guild she was a part of. He agreed to ask around about her and share that info with the twins.
Classes were attended and some personal research was conducted throughout the week. Nearing the end of the week, Ignis had a run in with Beth Vandrin at the lake where some tears were shed and bottled up feelings revealed. But the excitement of the night didn't end there. On the way back to dorm, Ignis and Tyr ran into Dr. Maxwell Knight, carting a suspicious item across campus. With a clever distraction and a sneaky mage hand, Ignis caught sight of a pale humanoid hand -- which Tyr wondered belonged to Lenna Gilvaris, the healer track professor who he was informed would no longer be teaching this year.
The party had some...disagreements about how they wanted to handle all of this new information.
At the end of the week, everyone met up at the Biblioplex for their second QUEST trip! Keya informed the team that she had been to Rosehaven just yesterday and discovered that Oliver Fenwick had gotten up and left his home - strange, to say the least. But not to worry, this week's trip was a lot safer than the last. Working with The Xerniko Guild, the party got to dig up some old items in Unknown in Asfalis -- and even got to keep whatever they found, so long as it wasn't of any particular historical importance.
Ignis found something that may very well have been of particular historical importance, but they decided to keep that to themselves.
Luckily, no one caused a cave-in, and everyone got to go home with all of their limbs.
