The world of Trynnalta, the name of which translates strangely across all its myriad tongues as "Third Attempt", is a place of seemingly endless struggles, wars and yet also a place of eternal mystery and majesty. Of its various countries and continents, very few of them share commonality in their nature. Each continent is home to strange peoples and bizarre creatures with even these very rarely sharing any similar traits.
Reckoned to be in its third age by the largest civilization placing it well within the Age of Autumn in the Recorded Eon. Despite the great differences among the mortal tribes all of them seem to share similar legends revolving around a time of collapse within the past half a millennium. What exactly caused this societal collapse is different for each tribe, regardless however, they each share the same troubling ramifications; very little written or recorded information exists of the ages prior to the Age of Autumn. For many places whole millenniums of history are simply gone. Present may be the tomes and tablets on which they should be inscribed, yet absent of the words they should contain.
To compound the issues further; each of the precipitating events that lead to the loss of history are often extremely devastating to the land and the people near where it transpires. Such was the fate of the Summerlands of Inis Mona, where once the mighty Ardruids built their cities that defied all conventional laws of physics and the arcane. Here there is no life, magic does not work properly and ferocious magical storms savage the land. The Psoglavi of Etomesto believe the dry, frozen wastes of Neplodridovi were once green and fertile before the age they call The Darkening. A time where they fell into chaos and wars, devolving into a savage and gruesome people.
This new Age is an era of wanton savagery, heroes and wars. Where dark skies are filled with calamity, forgotten gods slowly turn their ire to the Mortal Realms and fell magic awakens ancient evils. It is an age of champions seeking hope and glory while others whisper about the return of the endless night.
