He then took on a quest to restore balance between the stone and its lost pair, but first had to ensure it would not fall into the possession of the forces that lay siege to Leilon, seeking it for themselves. (The Cult of Talos, for the Storm God's wishes to restore The Netheril, restoring their worship of him in the process - and - Ebondeath, backed by Ularan Mortus and the Church of Myrkul, hoping to tie to the strengthening of the Cult of the Dragon's efforts to summon the Dragon Queen Tiamat).
Mentor of Ujio and Mon-Kei in their distant past, an elite member of an organization dedicated to opposing the breaching between worlds and cross-planar wars. They are based in the Astral Plane.
Within the caves near the Sword Mountains at the time of the Orc and wizard attack on the Wave Echo Caves and seeking to control the Forge of Spells - Askelon and his group intervened to oppose a trans-dimensional sorcerer who had become involved. Though successful in blocking the gateway, Askelon's team was overwhelmed - he placed Ujio and Mon-Kei into suspended states within a sword and a demiplanar space. Since their emergence five centuries later, the fighter and monk have begun to follow clues as to what may have happened to their once-mentor.
