103. The Bane of Thrane

27th Vult, 999 YK

They continue to assault the Shadow of the Tower.
Lozaal restrains Hjolmund against a nearby tree.
Harryn unleashes the power of the storm, oh my! He holds back though and avoids killing.
Thorn has an unusual burst of strength and restrains Brulri.
Sheshka petrifies the dwarves. Jhalaer is killed by Lozaal, and Ember is killed by Harryn.
They spend some time healing and bracing themselves for what's to come.
Harryn and Terfel lead the charge and open the door into the tower.
They see a strange ritual happening, a giant crystalline flower surrounded by thirteen stone slabs, delegates stretched out across them. Crystal replicas of the moons float freely around the flower, in the same position as those in the sky relative to the flower.
Drul Kantar is tending to the flower, and tells the group to leave.
Harryn charges forward, shouting at "Drukan the Moonlord!"
Drul Kantar is quite powerful, he can call lightning strikes down and wields a magical glaive that seems to channel the powers of the moons.
They fight for some time, and then Terfel attacks the flower. Drego Sarhain cast Dispel Magic on the crystal, which enrages Drul Kantar, who then reveals his true form.
"Behold true wonder! Drulkalatar Atesh, the Feral Hand, prakhutu of the Wild Heart! Immortal and perfect, a soldier of the First Age!"
Drul Kantar is actually a Rakshasa! His real name is Drulkalatar Atesh, the Feral Hand.
Everyone continues to attack the crystal, causing the tower to begin to shake.
Drulkalatar is also very powerful. He kills Alyn and Harryn, and almost kills Dax, Lozaal and Terfel.
Drulkalatar kills Thorn, and she explodes. In her place is a gigantic red dragon.
Wtf?
Drulkalatar identifies the dragon as Sarmondelaryx, and converses with her in Infernal. Dax' Athla understands what they're saying, it seems they know each other? Drulkalatar knows her, anyway, but she seems confused.
Sarmondelaryx fucking EATS HIM. The Khyber shard embedded in her neck flares briefly.
The tower collapses, and the party try to shield as many people as they can.
When the dust settles, the tower is gone and they are back in the slums of the Great Crag.
Sora Teraza is waiting for them, and says some cryptic stuff that doesn't make much sense. She then heals everyone, and revives those who died.
Lozaal takes Drul Kantar's glaive, which was lay on the ground.
Sora Maenya shows up with the Znir Pact! They gather everyone up and take them to the hospital.
Dax confronts the hags, and Sora Maenya claims to have had no knowledge of what was happening. Teraza just giggles and then says some more nonsense.
Wounds are treated by Zornel Vrek, who uses oozes to clean the wounds.
Sheshka goes and restores those who were petrified. Zaeurl flees when restored.
Dax privately talks to Nyrielle Tam about what happened. She has no memory of being a dragon, and she takes it hard. The shards embedded in her spine are hurting her, worse since she lost consciousness. Dax is concerned that Drulkalatar is bound within the Khyber shard. This needs to be kept a close eye on.
Dax and Sheshka went to check on the Medusa Enclave, and confirm that the medusa were killed and eaten by wererats. Sheshka is very upset.
Lozaal goes to check on Gorodan Ashlord, who slept through the whole thing. Nobody came for him!
They identify the glaive, and discover that only Warden can use it. He's not proficient though. Lol.

28th Vult, 999 YK

The delegates meet with the Daughters of Sora Kell and deliver their verdict, as posted in the Droaam Summit article. Droaam will not be given sovereignty at this time, not after what happened and the daughters seeming lack of remorse.
The Mist Walkers are very angry. What was the point of all this!?

Conversation between Drulkalatar Atesh and Sarmondelaryx

This entire conversation took place in Infernal, and so only Dax' Athla understood it.

Drulkalatar: "Sarmondelaryx! Be gone from this place!"

Sarmondelaryx does not "be gone from this place"

Drulkalatar: "Why are you doing this!? You know what I want! Leave me be, and together we will revel in the savage time that lies ahead!"

Sarmondelaryx: "What are you talking about? Who do you think I am?"

Drulkalatar: "You fool. At least I know who and what I am."

Sarmondelaryx unleashes extreme and possibly unnecessary violence on Drulkalatar.

Drulkalatar: "I cannot die. You of all creatures should know that. I will return, Sarmondelaryx, and you will pay for this."

Then she ate him.

Teraza's Statements

"Listen to the water, children. Life and death are part of the same stream, what is it like to swim the river twice? Help comes, soon enough for those who will live. Until then, I have gifts."

To Harryn Stormblade's corpse: "Not time for rest, there are pages still unwritten. What I once took, I give back once again."
