Session (Mistwalkers)

Final session!

Dax

  • Dax' Athla doesn't dream, so she goes to visit Samyr Kes and ask for help. Samyr summons Jaeinshar, the Golden Serpent, who explains that they can bring Dax back into the metaconcert, if that's what she wants.
  • Jaeinshar warns Dax that the dream will influence her way of thinking, she won't necessarily remain the person she is now. Does she want that?
  • Dax needs to mull this over. She needs to rejoin the dream to return to her tribe in Q'barra, but she isn't sure if she wants to risk who she is right now.
  • She asks the rest of the group for their opinion.
  • Lozaal, Terfel and Warden think she should re-join the dream, it's been her goal for so long!
  • Leonus is tentative, from his limited understanding of the situation, he wouldn't want to go back to it. He values his individuality too much.
  • Kalshana is concerned that rejoining the dream will mean Dax leaves, and even though its what is probably right for Dax, she would be sad.
  • Dax does want to return to Q'barra, to try and help the situation there. She also believes that being out of Q'barra has led to a lot of personal growth for her, and she can bring that experience with her back into the dream and introduce it to her people.
  • The next day, Dax goes back to Samyr and asks to rejoin the dream. She feels like she's incomplete, and she needs the dream to regain her wholeness. She also recognises that just returning to her previous life won't make her feel whole either, she needs to balance her two selves.
  • Jaeinshar briefly possesses Dax, reconnecting her to the "metaconcert" and briefly allowing her to experience reality as the Couatl do. That night, she dreams!
  • She doesn't plan anything right away, instead mulling over the dream. She tries to see if she can exert some influence over it, try to evolve it.
  • She also plans to return to Flamekeep with Drego to lock away the khyber shard containing Sulzrirtas. She spends as much time as she can basking in the light of the pillar of silver fire there.
  • She has a lot to learn before she returns to Q'barra.
  • After several nights of dreaming, she begins to feel the awareness of something greater in the dream. She doesn't remember feeling that before.
  • She accepts jobs from Samyr, rooting out cults in Flamekeep.
  • After some time, she organises a trip to Q'barra for the whole gang. She's going to become an envoy between the Masvirik'uala and the settlers in Q'barra.
  • Between all of her income streams, Dax creates a permanent teleportation circle in Avrahk Mbar'ost.

Leonus

  • Leonus returns to Karrnath to spend some time with his wife and son, who the rest of the group were unaware of!
  • He tells them to hit him up if they're ever in Karrnath. They don't know where he lives.
  • He periodically returns to Avrahk Mbar'ost as his missions allow. It's his only source of bananas!

Warden

  • After several days of rest, Warden leads the group (sans Leonus) to the Eldeen Reaches, to the burned out ruin of Bull Hollow.
  • Kal has a moment where she realises she led Dah'mir to this village, she might be responsible for their deaths.
  • The village is a ruin, but someone has buried all of the dead in a row of graves, marked with wood. Warden takes a moment to apologise to the graves.
  • Warden leads the group to the circle of stones that mark the seal, where he finds Geth kneeling before two cairns. The cairns are for Adolan and Azhug.
  • Geth's buried the bodies, though he doesn't know how many were taken by animals. He's been travelling, hunting monsters.
  • They help Geth do a sweep of the village for more corpses, to ensure they get a proper burial.
  • Warden prepares to restore/maintain the Dimensional Seal in the Bull Hole. Warden dedicates all of his spell slots to the ritual, restoring 41 hit points. Dax also dedicates all of her spell slots, for another 41 hit points. Kal dedicates almost all of her spell slots, keeping her 3rd level ones, restoring 32 hit points. At the end of the ritual, Warden discorporates, losing his physical form and becoming a cloud. The others express shock, and the cloud speaks! It lights up when it does.
  • Kal is surprised at how well Warden is taking his new reality.
  • Warden tries to wild shape, and it just makes the cloud appear like a night sky. He feels a tingling sensation.
  • Dax runs her hand through the cloud, and it feels uncomfortable for Warden.
  • Warden flies around and says "whee!"
  • He's actually terrified but is being blasé to cope.
  • He flies too high and gets blown away and dispersed. Oh no!
  • It takes him 10 minutes to reform into a cohesive cloud, and he returns to the others.
  • Kal asks him to keep his cloud on the ground because she's really worried he'll turn back into Warden while in the air and he'll die.
  • After 3 hours, Warden reconstitutes as a real-ish boy.
  • They consider doing it again tomorrow, but Warden doesn't want to be exposed to Xoriat again.
  • They rest in the ruins rather than leave right away and travel without spells.
  • He needs to maintain the Bull Hole and the Bonetree Mound, once a year each. He spends the rest of his time helping out where he can, enriching the soil around New Cyre, and trying to raise some awareness of the Gatekeepers and the threat posed by Xoriat.

Kalshana

  • After helping with Bull Hollow, Kalshana goes to enroll in Morgrave University, studying Khorvairian Politics and History.
  • She writes a dissertation on how Riedra is actually taking over Khorvaire. She has a real time defending it, that's for sure.
  • Warden makes Kalshana swear never to use Sending to contact Dyrrn, the Corruptor.
  • Even though her dissertation is ridiculous, she manages to pass her degree, and gets elected to a position on the Sharn Council representing Overlook.
  • Samyr Kes secretly finances her election campaign, believing it'll be useful to have a puppet on the Sharn Council.
  • Once she has achieved her position on the council, Kalshana and Lakashtai end up in a romantic relationship.
  • She falls in with the Daask after they bomb the Riedran Embassy in Sharn.

Lozaal

  • After returning from Q'barra with Dax, Lozaal returns to Volaar Draal and continues working for the Kech Volaar, opposing the Kech Shaarat.
  • He travels to Valenar to treat with the Kech Nasaar. He meets with Iraala Dhakaan, and discovers she has been experimenting with the Kapaa'vola, and has engineered a curse that can sever a Tairnadal from their patron ancestor, just as the Kapaa'vola did with the Uul Dhakaan.
  • Lozaal isn't a fan of this, but it's not his role to judge. He reports it back to Tuura Dhakaan.
  • Tuura does not endorse this, understanding the horror that Iraala is inflicting on the elves. She tasks Lozaal with finding the Kur Lheshat Nasaar and bringing them to heel.
  • In the meantime, he opposes the Kech Shaarat wherever possible.

Terfel

  • Terfel continues administration of New Cyre along with Prince Oargev ir'Wynarn.
  • He visits Dax in Q'barra with his family.
  • He keeps in touch with everyone, acting to keep them together.

Llyr

  • Llyr becomes an artificer and adventures along with Daine, Lei, and Pierce.
  • Terfel is fine with this. Ariana is less fine with this.

Drego

  • Drego Sarhain continues spying on Breland for the Argentum, and working to deal with the priesthood there.
  • At some point, he falls in with House Tarkanan in some capacity, but we'll have to cover that in a future campaign maybe.

Daine, Lei, Pierce

  • Daine, Lei, and Pierce begin acting as Mist Walkers, adventuring on their behalf and with the group, depending on who's around.

Ashi, Dandra, Geth, Medala, Singe

  • Samyr spends time with Medala, working with Jaeinshar to repair the damage to her mind and bring as much of her personality back as possible. She remains traumatised, but Dandra and Kal help her to work through it, and she regains some of her independence.
  • Singe rejoined House Deneith as a recruiter and bodyguard.
  • Ashi isn't seen much, being held back by House Deneith and being wheeled out for events. A Siberys Mark is too valuable to risk. She hates this.
  • With Medala more capable of caring for herself, Dandra begins adventuring, occasionally meeting up with Geth and Singe (as his mercenary contracts allow).

Lakashtai

  • Lakashtai and Kalshana end up in a romantic relationship.
  • Lakashtai makes extensive use of her connections in the Sharn Council to enrich herself and improve her station.
