Along with the robotic pieces, he has armored shoulder pads He wears his goggles around his neck and has his gun strapped to his hip.

The Past

Domino was born to Alora Wittenmyer who was a Kalashtar and her husband, an elf from the The Sylvan Glade. When he was only four years old, there was an accident that had occurred with his mother. His mother was a magic researcher and local physician. She was working on expanding her prowess and explore capabilities beyond her what she knew. In doing so, she fell victim to a wild magic surge. While trying to contain the magic and protect her son she and her husband fell victim to the surge.

Both his parents were killed in the blast leaving Domino behind with only minor injuries. A branding mark was placed on his chest as the residual magic seeped into him. He remained within the rumble of the house until he was collected by Copper.

Copper rescued him and nursed him back to health alongside the young Kather. However, Copper was not prepared for the nightmares that Domino would often have, suffering from forms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Domino would have.

It was through Copper and Kather that he grew familiar with the faces and members of the Guild of the Lost. Being too young to participate in any activities he did learn a lot of skills from them. When Copper and Kather were needed, Copper would send Domino to the Sanctum to be supervised.

At the Sanctum, Domino was forced to learn and live the ways of a monk and the studies of a wizard. However, while at the Sanctum, Domino was also given the opportunity to practice the skills he learned from the guild.  Being a bit of a rebellious child, he had developed a rush for kleptomaniac behaviors and chaotic mindsets. He had taken a liking to pranking people and causing harm unto others. Stealing became as natural to him as breathing within the Sanctum, using the training he was provided. With the monk's training he had become light on his feat and fast and with the wizards he was able to learn how to create traps and spells, but the guild taught him how to be sneaky yet charismatic at the same time.

One day a large black rock fell from the sky in the shape of a rose. When the rock appeared, Domino was filled with pain in his chest and that night he kept waking up from the same reoccurring nightmare.

Domino and Kather liked hanging around the stone, unknown as to where the rock came from. As the time went on, black roses began to grow near the stone and encasing it in vines. A year had passed until the stone had finally broken open during the night. From the stone was Luna Eventide, a young girl around Domino’s age. She didn’t’ speak much but eventually warmed up to everyone.

Both Domino and Luna were sent away to Frecia Academy of Magic to study and learn while Copper’s watchful raven kept an eye on them. While at the school Domino was placed into the Crest of the Comet and eventually met Malady Visus.

Domino, Luna, and Malady were inseparable, while Domino studied magic and technology. Despite his new life, Domino would still occasionally suffer from bouts of anxiety or depression. However, Malady and Luna were often the ones who helped him through the process.

After a year had passed at the academy, the trio noticed that there appeared to be something strange going on. Students were acting slightly different than usual, fights were breaking out more often, and occasionally there were occasional magical outbursts larger than the norm. Vix Silvertail, the headmaster’s student assistant, approached Domino and the others with the concerns in the hopes that they had any relevant information. Domino had nothing at the time but wanted to ease Vix’s mind. He and Luna had shared what was going on to Copper through their raven. Copper expressed his slight interest in the matter and informed him that they needed to stay vigilant.

The Forgotten Dragons

Domino’s dreams were getting worse and worse, as were the frequent pains on his chest from the mark. A couple of weeks had gone by after reaching out to Copper about the weird things going on. There was an announcement that a head count of students was going to commence. Heading Copper’s warning, Domino remained on guard in case something was about to happen.

After the headcount was completed, he met up with Luna and Malady in the library as per usual. Here he met Shiloh Krallenxia who gave him pointers on the latest invention he was working on. At the time, Domino was working on creating a self sustaining Warforged that did not require a lacrima to operate but still have its own thoughts, feelings, and the ability to learn. This was a theory he had come up with while in the Sanctum. After talking and sharing some ideas back and forth with Shiloh the two befriended one another. Shiloh had informed him that he and his group were her investigating a trail that led them to the Academy. He was prompted to go with him to help with his investigations, curious if it had something to do with what Vix was concerned about.

Once the two had reached the courtyard, a fight had started with Cecil the crest of the comet lead who Domino had grown familiar with. Alongside them were two other star students he shared a dorm with. It was revealed that Cecil was not who she said she was, and the students were some kind of undead experiments. During the encounter, Domino tried out one of his pistol experiments and assisted in the fight the best that he could. During the fight, Copper made an appearance revealing that he was hiding as a student after the two had reached out to him. Copper gave the visitors and ominous message urging them to go to meet him to truly find out what side they are on.

After reconvening with the group and confronting the headmaster, Domino spoke with Vix. The two of them talked with one another and speculated some things relevant to Vix's concerns and Domino's dreams that have been getting worse. Vix assured that she would conduct the investigation herself despite his disapproval of going alone. In short words in his head, Copper told Domino to coax the visitors to go to him. He was interested as to why they were on the same trail as he was.

Following Copper’s ask, he informed the visitors that it was best to listen to Copper and head to Kather. He advised that he was in his hometown of Varla and the best way to get there was to teleport and then proceed by train. He helped the group and teleported them off the grounds. He was later again approached by Vix with a request. Domino was going to act as her informant here within the school and to work within the shadows to ensure that the same thing doesn’t happen again.

The Time Skip

After their graduation, Luna had revealed who she really was and where she really came from. Domino had learned that she was a chosen of a God from an entirely different realm. This was confirmed by Copper who explained the aura he felt emanating from her constantly. Despite the new information their friendship didn’t change, and the friends remained together.

The three became more involved with the actions of the guild under Kather’s directions and guidance. It was through Kather that Domino learned that he was capable of Realm Jumping just like she was. This allowed Domino to experience other realms and cause further mischief. He was able to grab new supplies and make new experiments with the new information he was experiencing.

As Domino became an adult he befriended a new person in his life. A lizardman from a different realm who he would mentor. This individual eventually became his lab partner, creating various types of experiments together. The two of them branched off from the Guild of the Lost and created a guild of their own known as Cloak and Daggers. This guild was stationed in a small pocket dimension referred to as the playground of the gods Clockwork. Malady joined the guild, but Luna had other things in mind. She took to the seas and became a Captain of her own crew. After experiencing the life that he had gone through up until now, Domino assured that there would be always be a light within the shadow and a place to call home. He wanted to be a protector of those around him much like how Copper was for him.

Domino was able to gather many members to his guild. They were of all kinds of backgrounds and histories. Some were charismatic savants, while others were dark assassins. Some were scholars eager to learn, some were wanting a place to call home.

Domino’s experiments and magic began to grow wilder and bigger. He had come to realize he had a hidden knack for certain types of magic, but he had trouble controlling it. He needed a catalyst to keep things under control. However, a magic surged had occurred by Domino’s hands. His chest burned from the mark as uncontrollable magical energies surged through the realm. During this unfortunate event, his lab partner and perished in the blast as did several other members of the guild.

Malady survived and sought refuge with her patron when her revivify spells failed. To rectify the situation still weak from the blast, she attempted to reach out and did the unthinkable. Falling prey to the words of her Goddess, she ended up sacrificing a life for a life. Taking the lives of five innocents to bring back her guildmates before Domino found her. He was angered by the thought of this and eventually he cast her out of the guild to never speak with her again.

Domino writhed in pain and agony, in the rubble of the guild hall. He called out to his lab partner screaming into the air that he didn’t mean for any of this to end like this. In his anguish, Domino’s voice was heard as a warforged experiment had come to life. The soul of his partner returning too the mortal plane bound to the body. Although Domino was able to sense that it was him, he was a shadow of his former self, thus renaming the name 5h4d0w.

Shadow did not remember who he was or where he came from, but that didn’t stop Domino from trying to help him jog his memories as the two went on adventures together. Shadow called Domino father which didn’t bother him at all, finding it reminiscent to when Copper had found Domino.

The Great Sages

Overtime, the guild flourished as Domino and Shadow continued their antics together. The two would travel to various realms on adventures together. On one such adventure, the two had travelled to where Luna frequented. This place was referred to as The Cove within the realm of Varosha. Domino had become more proficient with illusionary magic that allowed him to change his appearance to others. He took on the shape of a young fairy boy dressed in rags to sell bits and pieces of his inventions on the black market. At the same time, he was on the hunt for new tools and weapons he could modify back at his workshop.

While sitting in an alleyway with his wares, a raven had appeared which caused Domino to crack a smile. He was approached by a group of individuals who were eager to see what he had to offer. He recognized right away that these individuals were the ones Luna had spoke about before. She had mentioned to him that she had come across individuals who were releasing her fellow sages and sought to pull what she referred to as a “Copper”. What she meant was she was going to ally with them and ensure that they were on the right side of things for the good of the world.

Domino knew that they were in good hands and ended up selling a bow he had designed to Leviathan Jormun. Shadow had interacted with the group and eventually expressed his interest to travel alongside them. The words that were running through his head were that of “trust” and “growth” compelling him to grant Shadow’s wish. Domino was saddened to see him go, but it finally came time for him to experience what the world was like beyond him once more. He hoped to one day bring back the person he had lost but was happy with the person he was becoming. He said his goodbyes to the group and packed up his things, bidding a farewell to the raven as well.

Days later he had returned home back to the guild hall and continued to work on his experiments. The house felt a little empty with him gone and he started wonder if Shadow would ever reach out to him through the book he had given him. It wasn’t much but it was a book that acted as a small portal connection between two different books. Shadow had a copy as did Domino. It would allow the two to communicate with each other no matter what realm they were in.

Later, Shadow and the others would come crashing through a very large dimensional portal created by Luna. The ship was battered and torn, with most of the crew missing and injured. Domino was one of the first on the scene assisting in providing magical aid to anyone who required it to stabilize them before being brought to the hospital. Here is where he learned of what happened to Luna.

Luna had sacrificed her remaining mana and life to open the gate and rescue the new chosen sages as a rise of a Unknown had occurred within Varosha. Domino had brought Luna’s body back to the guild hall where he would try to devise a way to bring her back to life. Not wanting to be like his mother, he did know of one person who may be able to help.

The healed Mandolynne, Leviathan, Shoal of the Reef, and Tabes were escorted to the guild hall by Shadow. They all filled him in on what happened and how Luna’s brother brought forth the demons. Domino explained that Malady may be able to help her through her witchcraft. They needed to find where he had exiled her in a swamp held for her Goddess.

The group went and retrieved her easily back to the guild hall. The tension was high between Domino and Malady as he still did not forgive her for what she had done. She did, however, agree to help in this situation if it meant she was back in the guild. It took some persuasion, but Domino wanted to reflect on the good memories of her that he held onto. He agreed and she was reinstated back into the guild on the promise that no lives would be sacrificed. She agreed to the terms and made herself quickly back at home.

She had informed the group that there was a way to be able to revive Luna to her full potential without sacrificial magic, but it was risky. It required them to speak an individual known as the Master. Speak with the master and then gain access to the information he has regarding the Labyrinth of the Gods they protected. Inside the labyrinth was an orb that would be used to channel magical energies into but specifically calling upon the gods that made her a sage. The orb of Theros.

While the group was in the labyrinth, Domino and Malady had the time to reconcile with one another. Although he still didn’t justify her actions, he understood where she was coming from.

The group did manage to return with the orb in hand and the new blessing that were bestowed upon them by their gods. Shadow shared memories he had reclaimed within the labyrinth, although they weren’t a lot they were still enough to make Domino smile. Malady had conducted the ritual calling upon the pantheon and the wills of Erebos, Luna’s respective god. Each god gave their blessing, and Luna awoke with the new enlightenment as the Golden Sage.

With Luna now back and the new sages eager to go back home to put an end to the war, Domino insisted that they needed a strategy first because this was a war. The Watchers of the Midnight Eye started to come out from the shadows they hid behind and involved themselves to ally with the sages. Warriors dawning masks of celestial powers crafted by beings beyond them.

During their planning, one of the watchers started acting strangely turning into a rabbit creature made from lightning. The group took the watcher down and had learned that the user was no longer compatible with the powers of the mask and had become corrupted. The sages informed Domino of the other masks that they had in their possession after encountering similar beings and defeating them.

After the sages had trained with the Master, they had jumped through a portal Luna had created with ease. Through the portal, they were able to meet up with surviving allies and station themselves for a war. Domino was giving the title “Guardian of Light” as he fought. He and the others eventually learned of the betrayal of Shoal as he feel victim the the inclinations of the demons.

With the war coming to an end, Domino and the others survived and relished on their victory. He returned back to the guild where he would eventually marry Malady.

The Pull from Retirement

After many years had gone by, Domino had come home to find that Malady was missing. He reached out to Luna worried who didn’t know where she was. Luna was able to pick up on some strange residues suggesting that Malady was kidnapped. She called upon the sages who came to her call. Although not all the sages arrived, she was able to call upon some back up.

The anxious Domino confronted Shadow and the others on Malady’s whereabouts and expressed his want for her safe return. He feared that something may have happened to her and just wanted her home.

After a brief trip into the Soul Realm, Shadow and the others were able to bring her back safe and sound. Due to this incident, Domino began to grow concern as to potential people who may have been after them. Domino eventually learned of residual members of the Order of the Moonlight who were finding way to track him down. They wanted him to come with them to complete the things his mother couldn’t. Domino wanted nothing to do with his mother at this point. After defeating the messengers, he was able to send off a warning to them while unleashing his magic that he kept under wraps. “Never come near me or my family again or face my wrath”.

From that day forth, he abandoned his family’s name and renamed himself Domino Archton. He and Malady would eventually have a child together.

Flurry of Blows - Feat

After you take the Attack action on your turn, you can make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action.

Monk

Way of the Astral Self - Subclass

A monk who follows the Way of the Astral Self believes their body is an illusion. They see their ki as a representation of their true form, an astral self. This astral self has the capacity to be a force of order or disorder, with some monasteries training students to use their power to protect the weak and other instructing aspirants in how to manifest their true selves in service to the mighty.

FORMS OF YOUR ASTRAL SELF

The astral self is a translucent embodiment of the monk’s soul. As a result, an astral self can reflect aspects of a monk’s background, ideals, flaws, and bonds, and an astral self doesn’t necessarily look anything like the monk. For example, the astral self of a lanky human might be reminiscent of a minotaur—the strength of which the monk feels within. Similarly, an orc monk might manifest gossamer arms and a delicate visage, representing the gentle beauty of the orc’s soul. Each astral self is unique, and some of the monks of this monastic tradition are known more for the appearance of their astral self than for their physical appearance.

When choosing this path, consider the quirks that define your monk. Are you obsessed with something? Are you driven by justice or a selfish desire? Any of these motivations could manifest in the form of your astral self.

Arms of the Astral Self

3rd-level Way of the Astral Self feature

Your mastery of your ki allows you to summon a portion of your astral self. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to summon the arms of your astral self. When you do so, each creature of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take force damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die.

For 10 minutes, these spectral arms hover near your shoulders or surround your arms (your choice). You determine the arms’ appearance, and they vanish early if you are incapacitated or die. While the spectral arms are present, you gain the following benefits:

  • You can use your Wisdom modifier in place of your Strength modifier when making Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • You can use the spectral arms to make unarmed strikes.
  • When you make an unarmed strike with the arms on your turn, your reach for it is 5 feet greater than normal.
  • The unarmed strikes you make with the arms can use your Wisdom modifier in place of your Strength or Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls, and their damage type is force.

Visage of the Astral Self

6th-level Way of the Astral Self feature

You can summon the visage of your astral self. As a bonus action, or as part of the bonus action you take to activate Arms of the Astral Self, you can spend 1 ki point to summon this visage for 10 minutes. It vanishes early if you are incapacitated or die.

While the spectral visage is present, you gain the following benefits.

Astral Sight. You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.

Wisdom of the Spirit. You have advantage on Wisdom (Insight) and Charisma (Intimidation) checks.

Word of the Spirit. When you speak, you can direct your words to a creature of your choice that you can see within 60 feet of you, making it so only that creature can hear you. Alternatively, you can amplify your voice so that all creatures within 600 feet can hear you.

Body of the Astral Self

11th-level Way of the Astral Self feature

When you have both your astral arms and visage summoned, you can cause the body of your astral self to appear (no action required). This spectral body covers your physical form like a suit of armor, connecting with the arms and visage. You determine its appearance.

While the spectral body is present, you gain the following benefits.

Deflect Energy. When you take acid, cold, fire, force, lightning, or thunder damage, you can use your reaction to deflect it. When you do so, the damage you take is reduced by 1d10 + your Wisdom modifier (minimum reduction of 1).

Empowered Arms. Once on each of your turns when you hit a target with the Arms of the Astral Self, you can deal extra damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die.

Awakened Astral Self

17th-level Way of the Astral Self feature

Your connection to your astral self is complete, allowing you to unleash its full potential. As a bonus action, you can spend 5 ki points to summon the arms, visage, and body of your astral self and awaken it for 10 minutes. This awakening ends early if you are incapacitated or die.

While your astral self is awakened, you gain the following benefits.

Armor of the Spirit. You gain a +2 bonus to Armor Class.

Astral Barrage. Whenever you use the Extra Attack feature to attack twice, you can instead attack three times if all the attacks are made with your astral arms.
