Volk Lesnoy, Zora and Sooty visited The Howling Hammer tavern, having a pleasant conversation with its wolf-shifter owner. The other half of the party, with Mikhail, Dareth Lion'el and Philomena Snapdragon meanwhile found out, to their dismay, that their client, Horvyn Quickstamp, apparently had his archeological dig site IN The Darkwoods rather than outside. Returning to the other half of the party, the entirety of Group AG-8 decided to have lunch at the Howling Hammer, a Chorizo-Chicken-Stew, and then went on their way to meet Horvyn Quickstamp. As the party walked on the path through the darkwoods, they could once again feel something watching them. However, that feeling subsided as they arrived at the dig-site camp.
At the camp, the party met their client, who then told them that this ruin was likely the underground of an old manufacturing plant of The Great Liwilai Empire of old, warned them of potential danger as there were some noises heard from the door, and then proceeded to talk the ears off the party. Everyone then entered the ruin, finding themselves in a ruined foyer. As the party investigated, seeing a dead goblin in a room with a teleportation circle to the north, Volk entered and was promptly attacked by two animate statues. The party managed to destroy it, but heard noises from the room to their left. Volk entered, only to be greeted by several goblins, one of which could cast spells, and a combat was had where Dareth even fell unconscious. Taking the time to breathe a little, the party then investigated the room to the south, where the goblins camped, finding statues of the Sancstorylian deities Boccob and Ioun, as well as statues of the Illiadian deities Itah and The Golden Scribe.
The party then went northwards, finding another dead goblin and two damaged constructs that identified the party as intruders. The party was able to dispatch these constructs relatively quickly, before resuming their exploration of the ruin.
