College of Whispers Bard, Ghostwise Halfling

Backstory
Was in Bard school, fellow student Fictus Aborenzo stole a play/work and submitted as their own. Plotting his doom, Calliope wrote a play from Fictus' perspective about murdering Calliope. Revealed, got him kicked out of school. Calliope seeks to murder Fictus Aborenzo, will write a play about it.
Ghostwise: in the basement, sought through rough materials, found a weird room, was told to make the play and seek revenge

 * From a small town, gifted and active in music. Parents saw this potential, saved up, and sent him off. Normal, supportive, and alive, don't realize his true nature
 * Life started: came to Bard College, small community college relatively in a relatively close city. Was widely liked and admired
 * Fictus Aborenzo, outcast in the college, known to not like PC (scoffs, dismissive). Plagiarized PC's work. When he stole PC's work, PC said nothing, biding time.
     * With no evidence, PC went into the college basement for supplies, digging through the stores, and found a weird side room. Ancient, long dusted and rotted items and furniture. Thinking about Fictus' plagiarism. "You really wanna get back at Fictus?" Convo with voice, together they made a plan: create a fake play about a murder plot on PC, get Fictus kicked out, then murder him after becoming a renowned
              * Being appeared as a spooky, spectral bard form, voice and PC would just hang out, offer advice over several days/weeks. Mentor in a way that none of the professors ever could. Saw into PC's brain, sees his true nature and intentions. Possible past: kicked out of school long ago, on dying breath he cursed the school
     * He got kicked out after PC's fake play scheme, then skipped town. PC heard his name following his trail, and Fictus is still performing around the Empire
 * Having graduated, PC is traveling around and barding as a cover for tracking down Fictus, led him to Port Ghamd
 * PC is outwardly likeable and giving, loveable lil dude, but he's always disdainful and negative on the inside
 * PC is not into gods, doesn't look to the gods for guidance

First Muse

After winning the Battle of the Bards, Calliope met with Evanya Starlight to receive the title of First Muse - a position of great honor and status within the Olessar empire. He was given the summary that it was his job to boost the image of the Olessar empire both within and outside its borders. As such, he may be asked to go to a specific region or settlement if his services are needed, but otherwise will have agency to do what he pleases.

With this title comes several boons:

  • The First Muse will receive special treatment anywhere within Olessar. The First Muse receives free room and board at any tavern or inn, and greatly accommodated for the duration of his stay. Owners and proprietors of these establishments will go out of their way to ensure that the First Muse is treated well and leaves satisfied.
  • The First Muse will be treated well by any Goldguard or official Olessar guard force, and will not be approached with suspicion except for in the face of overwhelming evidence.
  • The First Muse is protected at all times by the Muse's Muscle, Tar Runo. The Muse's Muscle is loyal to the Muse, risking their life to protect the Muse and complete their objectives.
