Battle of the Bards

Typically, this is the most welcome day of the year in Sedesend for College of the Swan graduates. Despite the rivalry between them and Astralreach Academy, the bards are appreciated and celebrated for this event every year.

The Battle of the Bards pitches parties and bands against each other, with last musical group standing being declared the winner. The "battles" take place over the course of the evening, all hosted on the enormous and incredibly popular Tauma Auditorium.

Original Rules (prob won't be used):

• All participants are placed in a bracket and groups face of against one another (1v1) on the stage.
• Battles last 1 minute (10 rounds). Overtime is permitted up to 1 minute (10 additional rounds)
• Each round, the lead bard on the team must be performing. This typically involves playing/performing their instrument/activity of choice.
  • Successfully performing for the round earns 1 point.
    
  • Failure to perform can take many forms: failure to perform your art, failure to convey your art to the audience, failure to be seen and/or heard from the audience, etc.
• The team with the most points after the established 10 rounds wins. If it is tied, Overtime begins: both bards must continue to perform, unhindered. The first bard to fail to entertain the audience in overtime loses, and the opposing team is awarded the win.
