Tar Runo

Muse's Muscle

Tar Runo was a brown-red skinned half-Tiefling with close-cropped red hair. She often wore a padded and studded, sleeveless vest with bandages down her right arm and a bracer on her left. She often wielded a long, two-handed cudgel and wielded it with easy with her powerful build. She often acted calm and self-assured, moving easily and without great effort at all times, except for during combat.

Tar Runo was a member of the Goldguard, and was picked amongst the guard force as the personal bodyguard of the First Muse of 1113 GE, then Calliope. She was afforded the opportunity after many long years of distinguished service, and was among the few in the captain-level of the Goldguard who had requested to be stationed outside of Sedesend. Given this station, she vowed to keep the First Muse safe, giving her life for theirs should it be necessary. Secondarily, she served the Goldguard and the Olessar empire, reporting directly to Kaelen Dawnbringer after becoming the Muse's Muscle.

Tar Runo was an orphan, and lived at Dr. Hulton's Home for Extraordinary Youngins for most of her childhood. When she grew old enough to leave on her own, she took a ship off Tanadur and got a job as a bodyguard in Port Ghamd. Her reputation rose, she moved to Sedesend and joined the Goldguard for the more stable income, and rose steadily through those ranks to captain. When the Battle of the Bards was scheduled, she made certain to advocate to her superiors that she would take on the assignment, should she receive it. As such she had many contacts with other mercenaries when she worked as a bodyguard and developed many more connections within the Goldguard during her time in the capital. She had an affinity for recognizing prying eyes, and could often feel hostility before it arose.

Current Status

Tar Runo is traveling with Calliope, protecting him as he travels after having earned the title of First Muse.

  • 18 AC, wields no shield
  • Uses a two-handed cudgel (Maul stats): 1d12 + 4 bludgeoning damage per hit
  • Electrip (1d8 + 4 lightning)
  • Uses No! ability exclusively to protect the First Muse
