Built as the new seat of power for House Quinnlee, this huge, stark basalt building in the exact centre of the city never got to serve this purpose as Luciel I felt the ghosts of her father’s enemies lived in the walls (which is now known to be her schizophrenia making itself known.) Today, the Fortress is the seat of power of House de'Valice and the Old Duchy of Balla and Tréigthe.
The Fortress sits on the southern of the mountain's two peaks, connected to the other by a bridge, below which runs a street appropriately named Bridge Street.
